Her husband does not come home until late at night, and their marriage has grown cold. Aiming to become financially independent, Shiori begins attending night school to earn a qualification. However, even though it is night school, most of her classmates are much younger, and she struggles to adjust to student life for the first time in decades. One day, on the train home from school, Shiori ends up riding with Hajime, a classmate, and decides to travel partway with him.
