SGKI-041 Kisarazu Sports University Sumo Club Women: I Don’t Want to Lose to Men, Ever. Once They Step Into the Ring, They Keep Their Composure and Take on Any Challenge. New Member Edition

We learned that two new female recruits had joined the sumo club at Kisarazu Sports University, which we had previously covered, so we visited again for another report. The two were still somewhat shy about undressing, but they were enduring the demanding daily training. Their practice included intense pushing drills, oil sumo with their whole bodies coated in oil, and a recently introduced paired-baton-style sumo exercise. The coach kept them motivated with stern encouragement: Push your hips back! Stare down your opponent! Stay focused! Bodies collided, training partners pressed against each other, and the competition grew more intense. Though they said, It’s embarrassing to undress, this is a place where I fight against myself.
