A married couple who run a small Japanese-style restaurant in downtown Tokyo receive a gift from their sons: a trip to Ise for their 60th birthday. It becomes their first trip alone together in decades. Kashikojima in Ise-Shima is the husband Daisaku’s hometown, where he lived until elementary school. Wanting to show his beloved wife Ryoko the scenic beauty of Kashikojima, he takes her there.

Ryoko, who has had no intimate relationship with Daisaku for the past 10 years, hopes this trip will rekindle their marriage. At a mountain pass overlooking Kashikojima, they meet a same-age couple having an affair and quickly hit it off. Invited by the pair, who say they enjoy partner-swapping, the couple tries a group-swapping experience at a motel near the pass.

Daisaku, who has not felt desire in 10 years, is reawakened by the techniques of a friendly and beautiful 60-year-old snack bar hostess, and is able to be intimate with Ryoko again. He also succeeds in climaxing for the first time in 10 years. Ryoko, too, is stirred by the other man’s affectionate advances and sensual attention, and is able to enjoy intimacy with Daisaku smoothly, reaching repeated peaks of pleasure.

That night, the couple stays at a hot spring inn in Ise-Shima. Still carried away by the excitement of the day’s partner-swapping, Ryoko falls into a dreamlike state beside her drunken, sleeping husband and is assaulted by someone unknown. In her haze, the mature wife drifts into a fantasy of becoming a courtesan in Yoshiwara during the Edo period, unleashing a passionate and decadent romance with the leader of the Megu-mi group.
