Taisho era. In this anachronistic time, the village had customs that would be unthinkable today. A poor village girl, despised in the settlement as an impure child, struggled desperately to avoid being driven out. One day, in an effort to escape her desperate situation and hunger, she was chosen as a sacrificial offering in a village rite.

The men of the village had long been captivated by her alluring figure, and with that desire in mind, they revived an old ritual and plotted to turn her into a servant for their own needs. In order not to be cast out and to gain the village’s approval, the innocent, sheltered village girl was forced into days of degrading service to the villagers.

It was a world filled with madness, where she was repeatedly taken advantage of and overwhelmed by the relentless desires of men. No one would help her, and yet she could no longer remain in the village unless she complied. But as time passed, the village girl herself became increasingly corrupted, and what had once been unbearable gradually became her everyday reality, until her presence became something the village could no longer do without.
